Autumn Interactive
AUTUMN INTERACTIVE is a fundraiser to help launch INTERACTIVE 05 (I-05), the first ever public celebration of interactive arts in Toronto, and to help the Canadian Interactive Arts Consortium make it a free public event; accessible to all.
INTERACTIVE 05 is a partnership with the Toronto International Art Fair and will be presented throughout the public spaces of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from November 3-7, 2005. Initiated by Curatorial Director, Clara Hargittay and conceived by Creative Director, Thom Sokoloski.
For AUTUMN INTERACTIVE, Thom Sokoloski and The Spoke Club's chef, Paul Boehmer, will collaborate on creating an intimate salon-inspired evening integrating five interactive happenings (La Chambre Noire, Le Bal Tango, Les Amants Chocolatés, The Ear Cinema, a roof top spectacular and more) with five flights of futuristic food! All to be served with daring engagement, from the sexy to the cerebral, in a maze of experiences staged throughout the three floors of The Spoke Club.Sokoloski is known for having directed R. Murray Schafer's 'Ra' throughout the Ontario Science Centre and 'Hermes Trismegistos' inside Toronto's Union Station, having produced composer Michael Nyman & Band at Massey Hall, an international tour of Claude Vivier's 'Kopernikus,' and having staged his own 'Kafka in Love' inside the University of Toronto's Hart House swimming pool for Harbourfront's World Stage Festival.Paul Boehmer had a four year association with Michael Stadtlander before moving on to creating the menus for Opus, Ultra, Niagara's Escabèche and The Spoke Club. For AUTUMN INTERACTIVE, Paul will combine Ontario's harvest season of game, meats, fish and vegetables into a bouquet of 'plats fantastiques.'>
